journal #43.
wow, what a week! i started my classes on august 25th at scottsdale community college. my major is culinary art. week one is checked. i am all ready for week two.
last wednesday, i made hummus from scratch. the next day i was making vinaigrette figs for dressing. and yesterday there were teams to make an entrees. i worked with 2 girls. she made two different dressings, one for sweet and the another one is little spicy. the another girl made 5 different noodles for dressings. and i made wontons. yes, we made asian dishes. the teacher who is a chef, assigned to us to make a dish.
now i wonder what will i make a dish/entree for week two. hmm.
come over and order to eat something for yourself. it's at artichoke grill restaurant at scottsdale community college. we open on tuesday through friday at 1130am to 1pm. when you enter the campus, enter the third entrance and then go to parking lot h. that's where the artichoke grill is.
i will post the pictures when i am done with my disposal camera. it's require to take at least 20 pictures for my journal entires.
overall, i love it. it's so much fun! the interpreters are awesome. i love them. the teachers are cool! keep in mind, they are chefs. i have 7 classes and four of them are chefs, rest of them aren't.

5 more days to go - first day of school.
move in to new apartment - checked.
my 31st birthday - checked.
tomorrow, my girlfriend and i will go to sedona/grand canyon/flagstaff for the weekend. yes, we were supposed to go san diego but we had to cancel it. don't fret, we will go to san diego during fall/winter season for the weekend.
tomorrow is the orientation day for the culinary program. i look forward to it. can't hardly wait. i am very excited. next monday is the first day of school at scottsdale community college.
my baby sister, yaffa, is back to home here in phoenix from new york. she was staying in new for two months.
i got a haircut and i am very pleased with my hair.
we got the apartment. the apartment is lovely, good space, quiet area, and good place to live. we are looking forward to living in the new apartment with april. yes, lucy will live with me, what else?

you will be truly missed, bernie mac.
last saturday morning, he died of complications due to pneumonia. bernie mac, 50, had been hospitalized for about a week at hospital. a few years ago, he disclosed that he suffered from sarcoidosis, a rare autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in tissue, most often in the lungs.
may he rest in peace.

WASHINGTON - There's a new option for people annoyed at having to take their laptops out of their bags at airport security. The Transportation Security Administration will now allow travelers to leave their computers inside "checkpoint friendly" cases.
The new rules, announced Tuesday and set to take effect Aug. 16, are intended to help streamline the X-ray inspection lines.
TSA said it reached out to bag manufacturers this year to design laptop cases that would provide a clear, unobstructed image of the computer as it passed through an X-ray machine. The agency said the new bags will be available for purchase this month.
To qualify as "checkpoint friendly," a bag must have a designated laptop-only section that unfolds to lie flat on the X-ray machine belt and contains no metal snaps, zippers or buckles and no pockets.
Among the manufacturers selling TSA-approved laptop bags are Mobile Edge, Skooba Design and Targus Inc.

today is my birthday. actually, not yet. i was born at 450am in the morning. i was one day old on august 8th and today i am 31 years old. nice one, yes?
today is the perfect day for me. because the date is august 8th, 2008 as in 08-08-08. amazing, isn't it?
what's the plan for my birthday? well, i was supposed to be in san diego for my birthday weekend but i dropped it. my girlfriend will surprise me. what is it? i have no idea what's her plan for me. i will find out tomorrow as of today.
i will go to san diego in two weeks.
don't say happy birthday to me until it's 450am in the morning. :]

the dark knight - 10 out of 10.i plan to watch that movie again this week. i love it. the best summer movie of the year. heath ledger as the joker did a good job. no, no, tremendous job. he was marvelous acting as the joker. if you haven't see it, i highly recommended you to watch the dark knight. you won't regret it.
when i saw him on the screen, i was sad because, you know, he's gone. i believe it's his LAST movie you will see him on the big screen.
