journal #213.

last sunday, my wife and i went to my fraternity brother's home for halloween party. there were adults and the kids as well. i had a good time. he asked me to make something from scratch and serve them to eat. i wasn't sure what should i make. at first i was thinking about cupcakes with either icing or frosting. yes, it's come with orange and brown colors for halloween. then i realize i don't have anything like a mixer, sheet pan and you get the idea. i want to buy them but the kitchen is small and it has no room for them. so i decided to wait till we buy a house and i will buy many things, that's for sure. now you wonder what did i make, yes? i made pumpkin pecan breads. i made 3 batches of them. two of them has no pecans while the another one has pecans. i prepped and cooked at my friend's home and then i served them.

here are the pictures:

that's pumpkin breads with no pecans.

i realized i forget to take a picture of them but too late because i served them. so i had to stop my fraternity brother to eat because i wanted to take a picture of that. bummer.

pumpkin pecans bread. it looked funny. i put the batter too much into the loaf pan. [shakes head] the first picture with two pumpkin breads were perfect.
after cool down, i sliced one by one. the total were 8 slices. 4 people ate them. i ate and i liked it. it was good.

result? - they loved it. i am glad that they enjoyed it.

i am not very fond of pastry but i enjoy to make it. i don't mind to doing it for fun. i have no desire to become a pastry chef. i wanted to be a chef and i will. well, i am. but not officially yet. i am working on it.
